Position Overview:
The Medical Receptionist will serve as the first point of contact for patients, while also working in our EMR system and taking phone calls. This role requires someone who is comfortable balancing in-person scheduling as well as triaging phone calls, ensuring smooth daily operations in the clinic. The ideal candidate will be organized, customer-service oriented, and possess strong multitasking abilities to excel in both administrative and clinical duties.
Key Responsibilities:
Receptionist Duties:
- Patient Check-in/Check-out: Greet patients warmly, verify personal and insurance information, and assist with the check-in/check-out process.
- Scheduling & Appointments: Manage appointment scheduling for patients, confirm appointments, reschedule as necessary, and maintain an organized calendar for the podiatrist.
- Phone & Email Management: Answer and direct phone calls, respond to emails, address patient inquiries, and provide information on office hours, treatments, and procedures.
- Insurance & Billing Support: Verify patient insurance information, assist with insurance inquiries, and prepare documentation for billing. Collect co-pays and process payments.
- Patient Records Management: Ensure that patient files are accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with HIPAA regulations. Prepare charts and documents for patient visits.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Previous experience in a medical office setting is preferred, but not required
Skills:
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities; capable of providing exceptional patient service.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general office equipment.
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) and practice management software is a plus.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, especially related to podiatry, is highly desirable.

- Ability to manage a busy clinic environment while ensuring excellent patient care.

Working Conditions:
- Full-time position with regular hours: Monday–Friday, 8am-4pm.
