Guest Service Associate
East Village Spa seeks a part time Guest Service Associate (Average about 28 hours/week) Guest Service Associates provide exceptional and dependable service to both our spa guests and our treatment providers

Before applying please note: This job requires 7-8 hour shifts 3-4 days/week from including at least every other Saturday, with some shifts extending until 8pm. This role has great growth potential on our administrative and retail team, however we do not anticipate this role leading to a job as a service provider.
The ideal candidate is:
- Confident with google docs and spreadsheets, and quick to learn new software programs. This position requires comfort navigating frequent updates and changes in the scheduling program we use.
- Is great with complex puzzles. Juggling schedules for 20 providers and 15 treatment rooms, plus a nail salon is tricky!
- Detail oriented and understands the importance of double-checking work for accuracy.
- Professional and polite in phone and written communication with guests.
- Takes initiative to solve problems and anticipate potential future challenges
- Experienced with scheduling programs
- Is flexible to switch tasks on a moment's notice if something pressing happens, and has a great sense of humor when the day doesn't go as planned (which is often)
- Is punctual and able to reliably attend their scheduled shifts. All employees depend on the front desk team to get the spa ready to welcome guests in a timely manner.

Responsibilities may include:
- Creating a space that is both physically and emotionally welcoming
- Scheduling and adjusting appointments via phone, e-mail, text, and our online booking system.
- Prioritizing diverse tasks including last-minute assignments.
- Learning about our services, products, and providers to develop the expertise needed to make appropriate recommendations to guests
- Opening and closing the spa (at times alone,) straightening the retail area, light cleaning or occasional laundry assistance
- Assisting guests with retail recommendations, straightening retail, unpacking and checking in orders.
- Lifting boxes, bending, twisting, and fine motor skills to assist in processing inventory orders
- Is not above cleaning a restroom or changing over a pedicure station, and will do so without being asked if the need arises.
Hours of greatest need
- This position requires an average of about 28 hours/week with either 3-4 days/week.
- Hours of greatest need will vary, but currently we are seeking
- Potentially one weekday can be shortened to a 4-5 hour shift
- Every or every other Saturday.
Starting pay/benefits
- Pay starts* at $16/hour during training time (2 weeks to 2 months depending on speed with which independence is achieved) and after training period is at $16.50/hour with opportunities for incremental increases up to $19/hour based on increasing independence and responsibilities over time.
- Occasional bonuses available. *Higher pay negotiable for candidates who have similar scheduling experience at a busy salon or spa and are confident with spa scheduling software programs.
