Position Title : Director of Human Resources
Reports to : President / CEO
General Purpose : The Director of Human Resources guides and manages the overall provision of Human Resource services, policies, and procedures for Easter Seals Goodwill ND, Inc. (ESGWND). The major areas directed are recruiting and staffing; organizational planning; performance management and improvement systems; development, implementation and enforcement of policies and procedures following state and federal regulatory compliance; Team Member orientation, development, and training; policy development and documentation; Team Member relations; company and Team Member communication; compensation and benefits administration; Team Member safety and quality assurance initiatives, welfare, wellness and health; and Team Member services and counseling.
Essential Functions :
- Be fully aware and positively promote the mission, vision and values of ESGWND.
- Leads ESGWND’s compliance with all existing governmental and labor legal and government reporting requirements including any related to the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) the Department of Labor, worker compensation, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and so forth. Acts as primary contact with outside government agencies.
- Protects interests of Team Members and ESGWND in accordance with ESGWND’s Human Resources policies and governmental laws and regulations. Approves recommendations for terminations. Reviews Team Members’ appeals through the Problem Resolution policy.
- Provides leadership and direction to HR, training, QA, and safety teams ensuring collaboration and synergy among those departments Monitors administration to established standards and procedures. Identifies opportunities for improvement and resolves any discrepancies.
- Conducts a continuing study of all Human Resources policies, programs, and practices to keep executive management informed of new developments.
- Participates in executive, management, and company Team Member meetings and attends other meetings and seminars.
- Be a dynamic communicator and able to motivate Team Members;
- Determines and makes recommendations regarding Team Member relation practices necessary to establish a positive employer-Team Member relationship and promote a high level of Team Member morale.
- Leads the Human Resource Department in strategic planning, talent acquisition, employee relations, and performance management.
- Oversees quality assurance programs to ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company-specific performance goals.
