Open Position – Children’s Learning Center Teachers* Non-Exempt Status * Wage: 15.50/hr.

The Learning Center Teachers and Assistant Teachers work under the direction of the Director in implementing the classroom environment and activities contributing to the cognitive, social-emotional, physical, language, and communication development of the children within the Program following local Tribal, and federal laws governing childhood learning within the grant requirements and provides assistant to the Master Teacher and mentors the Assistant Teachers.
Qualifications:
· Must be at least 18 years of age.
· High school diploma or GED
· Able to pass an adjudicated background check as required by Federal law after conditional offer of employment is made
· Must have positive verifiable work references
· Current Driver’s License
· Able to maintain strictest confidentiality and exhibit sensitivity to cultural and personnel issues and able to communicate with people from diverse functional areas, and convey complex data in tangible terms
Responsibilities:
· Implements curriculum activities of the classroom environment that facilitate the cognitive, social-emotional, physical, language, and communication development of the Children within the program
· Provides assistance to fellow staff in coordination with the Master Teacher and/or the Learning Center Director, by modeling best practices in an inclusive setting based on the mission and philosophy of the Center
· Assist the Learning Center Director and working with fellow Teachers in the development and implementation of a classroom plan for curriculum. Individual child planning, and family communication, and daily instruction for students
· Actively participates in scheduled training, parent meetings, individual coaching sessions, and the development of a personal professional learning plan
· Collaborate with and support colleagues in achieving professional goals
· Meets professional expectations as outlined in the Learning Center Staff Handbook
· Directs children in educational activities; supervise children during lunch, naptime, free time, field trips, and transition between activities and playground periods
· Prepare materials for scheduled and planned activities under the direction of Teacher, Master Teacher, and/or Learning Center Coordinator
· Communicates and works harmoniously with diverse families and coworkers
Represent the Tribe in a professional manner at all times, when working with Tribal members, in dealings with outside entities and situations with fellow employees
