POSITION SUMMARY
Expedite answers/deliveries in accordance with agreed in-yard need dates to ensure products/information arrives at the right time to meet production schedules.

- Regular attendance at work and the ability to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.
- Follow PPG-001, OPC Material Expediting Procedure.
- Establish and manage suppliers on a weekly basis to expedite delivery information in accordance with purchase orders. Monthly delivery of ERP reports of full open orders sent to suppliers for confirmation that suppliers have orders in process.
- Maintain live time tracker of all equipment status.
- Identify and escalate critical material delays to the manager and production that may impact or delay production schedules.
- Interact with Buyers daily for new purchase orders and open order status.
- Print purchase reports on a regular basis for Buyers and management review.
- Follow Company and Government procurement policies that achieve the best value in accordance with the FAR, DFAR, HAS, CPSR, OPC Contract Requirements, and ITAR as applicable.
- Identify and implement process improvements in cost of transportation and on-time delivery. Work concurrently with Freight Coordinator for inbound material transportation from suppliers.
- Resolve any questions about material that may or may not be received by the Warehouse. An occasional visit to the warehouse will be required.
- Make updated changes to promised delivery dates in the system and attach all notes to purchase orders lines.
- Required to perform Requisition to PO purchasing process function in support of Buyers when the need arises per manager’s requirements.
- Establish, manage, and update Lead times with suppliers on each ESG Part Number within the ERP system.
- Acts as a central point of contact with Hull Managers for inbound material.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Job RequirementsREQUIREMENTS
Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED equivalent plus Five years’ experience as a Buyer/Expediter preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Skills: Intermediate-level Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Ability to read and interpret documents such as general business periodicals, professional documents, or government regulations. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees, vendors, and management. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide into all units of measure. Ability to multi-task and work independently with minimal direction.
Behavioral Attributes: Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance. Integrity, ethics, flexibility/adaptability, initiative, interpersonal skills, attention to detail, safety-conscious, and multi-tasking.
