Functions
Responsible for day-to-day planning support to implementation detail planning for the OPC work-related Material, including the development of the Integrated Master Schedule and quantifiable backup detail inputs including the development of work packages, logical relationships, resource loading, integration with other IPT plans, Critical Path Analysis, and change management.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Because Eastern Shipbuilding is continually growing to meet the needs of our customers, the essential duties and responsibilities may be different than described.
- Regular attendance at work and the ability to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.
- Develop Material and Subcontractor work packages/work orders, for support groups to support the master schedule.
- Develop work packages/work orders, for support groups to support the master schedule based on drawings and CAM inputs. Must be able to read drawings, bill of materials, and determine materials for work packages.
- Develop work packages/work orders detail steps and determine material demand and in yard need dates in WOMBAT.
- Develop work packages/work orders logic, justifications (lag and high duration)
- Generate, monitor, and maintain work package changes driven by ECNs or ECPs.
- Reconciliation of PSPECs with Eng prior to reqs
- Supports material pricing on ROMs for CCB
- Supports material pricing on Class 1 changes from USCG
- Reconciliation of BOM with Eng
- Maintains BOM
- Supports ILS on pricing material for provisioning
- Supports test and other groups on analyzing data to support procurement of materials –
- Manages a weekly meeting with purchasing to go through all open reqs and pushes to resolution
- Develop and enter material and subcontractor requisitions into CostPoint
- Develop basis of estimates for work packages based on standards and actual performance.
- Design and create planning material demand models that provide the best optimization of cost, and efficiency.
- BCR coordination, completion, and workflow.
- Perform work in accordance with ESG’s ISO standards, planning and scheduling excellence, and EVMS system description.
- Implement BCRs with schedulers in P6.
- Assist CAMs with schedule, subcontractor management planning.
- Assist/create and run reports weekly/monthly.
- Maintain high standards in planning quality.
- Support CAMs in VAR Analysis related to subcontractors and materials.
- Coordinate planning for multiple projects for material
- Identify material dependencies.
- Communicate with CAMs to determine updates on materials received for assigned work.
- Expedite materials that delay production schedules and alter schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
- Ensure the smooth and cost‐efficient flow of production operations through information management and sharing.
- Provide information needed for Earned Value Management reporting.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no formal supervisory responsibility.
Reporting Relationship: This position will report to the Planning and Scheduling Supervisor
Job Requirements
Qualifications
Education/Experience: BA/BS Degree in Business Administration, Management, Construction, or Engineering. 3 or more years or more of experience as a planner or in a related field. Experience in industrial engineering, shipbuilding, production processes, supply chain. Trade experience and an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Control Account Manager certification is required. Experience with Primavera P6 or other Scheduling Software in a resource-loaded EVMS Schedule, Project Management support, Cost Accounting background, experience working in a manufacturing or shipbuilding environment, and government contract work, or experience working in drawing and modeling software are desired
Skills: Advanced Microsoft Suite experience including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Excellent written and oral communication skills and a working knowledge of various web-based design and collaboration tools. Must have the ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks with strict deadlines, effectively present information and respond to questions from management, forge and sustain outstanding client relationships while managing multiple work streams and work both independently and as part of the project team while exercising diplomacy and tact. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations, rapidly obtain, sort, filter, and analyze large volumes of data for distillation into high-level reports. Must be able to effectively communicate clearly with managers, office workers, and craft workers verbally and in writing. Show initiative and innovation, adapt to ambiguous and fast-paced situations, and track, manage, and prioritize multiple tasks. Advanced skills in data systems and Project Management or Earned Value Management system training or certifications are desired.
