Eastern University, a Christian university of the liberal arts and sciences located in St. Davids, Pennsylvania, invites applications for the full-time Public Safety Power Shift vacancy.

The position is full-time, 40 hours/week, 12 months per year.

Position Responsibilities:

1. Embodies values of caring and compassion, justice and integrity, competence and affirmation.

3. Provide Mass Transit Shuttle services

4. Perform campus parking enforcement

5. Perform supplement camps security patrol

6. Assist with sporting and special event security and traffic control

7. This position is an essential personnel position

7. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• The Public Safety Power Shift must possess a High School diploma or GED and good work history required. The applicant must possess a valid PA driver’s license with no violations within the past 24 months
• Must be able to drive safely at night and in poor weather.
• Proven computer literacy (Microsoft Office Word, Excel), excellent written and verbal communications skills, are required.
• Must be capable of passing a background investigation including criminal records check and a physical and/or psychological examination.
• Ability to follow instructions and get along with others.
• The physical demands of this position must be met by an employee in order to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Heavy lifting a must (not in excess of 50 pounds).
• Ability to sit or stand for prolonged period of time, must also be able to bend, stoop, squat, reach above shoulder level, kneel, lift and carry, push and pull up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to focus.
• Ability to talk, hear and walk without assistance.
• Ability to report to work for assigned shift and perform required duties for a minimum of eight (8) hours per day.
• Experience in modern security techniques
• Ability to work independently

Background Checks

1) Affidavit;

2) FBI Criminal Record Check;

3) Pennsylvania Department of Human Services Child Abuse History Clearance and;

4) Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check.

In accordance with state laws, Act 73 of 2007, Act 153 of 2014, Act 168 (relating to the Child Protective Services Law), school employees of Eastern University who will have "direct contact with children" must complete the background check process prior to employment. Results must be submitted within ten days of receipt.
