About being a Payroll Lead at Easterseals Redwood:
Position Summary
This position will be responsible for ensuring quality and accuracy for all aspects of payroll preparation/processing in collaboration with the Payroll Specialist. This role ensures accurate preparation, documentation, distribution and reconciliation of payroll and provides timely reporting for leadership. This position is responsible for supporting the payroll team and modeling excellent payroll processing practices. A person in this position will work closely with Agency Leadership as well as HR and Finance professionals.
- Is responsible for supporting all day-to-day operations of payroll that ensure accurate and timely payroll processing for multiple locations.
- Researches and investigates payroll discrepancies. Tracks payroll errors and exception rate and disperses findings to Senior Leadership.
- Completes internal payroll audits to ensure quality and accuracy of processed payroll.
- Facilitates management and employee understanding of payroll procedures.
- Prepares compensation reporting for leadership as requested. Support Payroll Specialist with creation and distribution of bi-weekly payroll reporting.
- Assists with yearly audits.
- Supports staff and leadership with a variety of payroll and timecard situations.
- Maintains payroll records in accordance with agency and IRS record retention requirements.
- Ensures that all documentation received related to garnishment orders or child support orders is provided timely to Paycor. Acts as the main contact for the Paycor garnishment team.
- Ensures that all documentation received related to federal, state, or local taxes is provided timely to Paycor. Acts as the main contact for the Paycor tax team.
- Acts as the primary Finance Payroll Liaison for Paycor.
- Works collaboratively with the Human Resources department as needed.
- Answers staff and/or management questions regarding payroll processing and compensation calculations.
- Performs benefits administration in collaboration with Human Resources, including performing. reconciliations to ensure benefit withholdings are accurate, submitting bi-weekly HSA withholding, and other functions.
- Performs 401K administration in collaboration with Human Resources, including the transmittal of 401K withholdings with each payroll and other functions.
- Performs systems administration within the payroll processing system, including working closely with Paycor to update current systems and troubleshoot systems errors as they arise. Completes training and continuing education to maintain current knowledge of all system functions.
- Assists with other administrative functions based on business need.

What Easterseals Redwood requires from our Payroll Lead:
- Associates degree or equivalent experience
- 3-5 years of payroll processing experience required. May substitute requirement for 1 year of payroll processing with a FPC or CPP certification.
- Experience with multistate taxation and complex payroll reporting
- Intermediate to Advanced expertise with Microsoft Excel
- Experience with Paycor strongly preferred
- Non-profit or social service experience preferred but not required.
