JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a visionary leader who will be responsible for elevating our school-wide Athletics Department and programs through strategic and innovative planning, dynamic leadership and a deep understanding of the business of athletics. The Executive Director of Athletics will champion student-athlete success and ensure financial sustainability, community engagement and programming excellence.

This role reports to the President. Eastside Catholic is committed to an athletic program of excellence. The primary goal of the Athletic Department is to establish championship programs while building values in our student athletes. We aim to develop young athletes for college-level competitions and beyond while ensuring every student has meaningful opportunities to engage in sports. The Executive Director of Athletics will lead a strong middle and high school pipeline, fostering talent, building skills and inspiring a lifelong passion for sports through strategic leadership, program development and mentorship.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership and Vision
- Develop a five-year vision and strategic plan for the growth and success of the school’s athletic programs and facilities to align with the school’s strategic plan, mission and values, goals and budgeting processes.
- Provide strong leadership to coaches, staff and student-athletes, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.
- Represent the Athletics Department on the Senior Leadership Team, with the Board of Trustees, and in school-wide initiatives. Serve as a key advisor to the President.
- Develop a culture that supports and helps develop the academic and faith formation of the athletes.
Operational Management
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Athletics Department, including daily operations, budget management, fundraising, athletic facilities management and compliance.
- Ensure the effective recruitment, hiring and retention of high-quality coaches and staff members who are committed to the mission of the school and the success of student-athletes
- Collaborate with the Chief Financial Officer to manage financial operations, including budget planning, forecasting, and reporting.
- Support the academic success, personal development and overall well-being of student-athletes.
- Ensures appropriate medical care for student-athletes with the Athletic Trainer.
- Contributes to the overall success of the athletics program by performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the President.
- Bachelor’s degree; master’s degree preferred
- Proven experience as an athletic director or in a similar role with demonstrated experience in building strong and successful athletic programs
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills; a relationship-focused leader who naturally connects and inspires coaches, staff, students, parents and prospective families with sincerity and authenticity
- Possess strong media and communication skills to effectively promote the athletic program, manage public relations, and engage with the community across various platforms
- Strong organizational, administrative and time-management skills
- Commitment to a full-time, year-round position with evening and weekend hours required for athletic events and activities
