The Driver is responsible for providing safe, reliable, and comfortable transportation services to residents of the retirement community. The driver will transport residents to medical appointments, local stores, recreational outings, and other events while ensuring their safety, well-being, and comfort during transit. The Driver will:
- Transport Residents: Safely drive residents to and from appointments, shopping trips, social outings, and other scheduled events.
- Assist Residents: Provide assistance to residents getting in and out of vehicles as needed, including helping with mobility aids such as walkers, wheelchairs, or other assistive devices.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Perform routine inspections of the vehicle, ensuring it is clean, well-maintained, and in safe operating condition. Report any maintenance needs to the appropriate staff.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate logs of trips, mileage, and any incidents or issues that arise during transport.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure all safety regulations are followed, including proper use of seat belts, secure loading/unloading of residents, and compliance with traffic laws.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by being friendly, professional, and attentive to the needs of residents.
- Emergency Preparedness: Be prepared to respond to any emergencies while on the road and follow established emergency protocols if necessary.
- Coordination with Staff: Work with the activities and transportation team to schedule and prioritize trips and outings, and communicate any delays or issues promptly.
Experience: Previous driving experience, especially in a role involving transportation of elderly individuals, is preferred.
Licenses & Certifications: A valid drivers license with a clean driving record.
