ECHO is seeking a Job Coach to assist individuals with disabilities in identifying appropriate and satisfying employment, locating and securing that employment, and providing the necessary support to maintain or improve employment.
This position is community based and work hours are based on client needs with a target of 120 billable hours a month.

Job Duties

- Job Placement
- Perform discovery with individuals to identify and explore their skills, interests, motivations for work, support needs and ideal working conditions for employment including their "dream "
- With the information from discovery, help the person to develop their job search
- Support individuals in seeking employment including identifying potential jobs, readiness planning, resume writing, completion of job applications, interviews with employers doing so only to the extent needed by each
- Assist individuals in managing all needs related to their job (such as dress code, required equipment, planning for on time arrival and transportation planning).
- Help identify and provide job accommodation if
- Provide one-on-one job instruction and training until the person is independent utilizing creative teaching
- Develop workplace tools or strategies that will help the supported employee perform their jobs if/when the job coach fades out to less
- Provide support in personal care needs of those supported when/if needed for someone who will maintain job coach
- Help the person develop natural support in the
- Act as a guide for the workplace culture identifying if and where the person needs or wants support in managing within their work environment with peers and
- Employer Development
- Represent the individual to employers while maintaining confidentiality and the highest level of respect for the
- Market the program to local businesses and community organizations which may include presentations to large
- Work with businesses to develop potential worksites and employment
- Provide support and information to employers on accommodations and tools for supporting their employees.
- Maintain a strong relationship with employers providing consistent communication and responsiveness to any needs that
- Provide ongoing long-term support on the job
- Visit the workplace to provide ongoing support for supported employees and to the business management or
- Continue supporting any necessary job
- Foster ongoing natural
- Foster good relationships with co-workers and supervisors fit to the work
- Coordination of Services
- Coordinate your own schedule around multiple needs of those supported as well as coordinate the schedules of the supported employees when
- Work in various settings depending on the workplace of the
- Work potentially varied hours based on the schedules of
- Use personal vehicles for travel to and from work sites, individuals' homes or other places needed to assist people with their
- Coordinate with the person, their family, case managers, employers or other relevant parties as needs arise for the
- Communicate regularly with funding sources regarding
- Complete all required
- Complete and submit all billing for funding
- Follow all agency rules, policies, and regulations at all
- Document serious incidents and submit reports to the immediate
- Attend staff meetings or planning meetings as
- Attended workshops and in-service training as
- Assist in any capacity of the program as requested by the immediate supervisor or director.
- Report any suspected abuse and/or neglect to the Program Manager, Supported Employment and Director of Quality Improvement & Program Integrity.
- Teamwork
- Work cooperatively and professionally with all team
- Display a positive attitude with participants and colleagues throughout
- Act as back-up Employment Support Specialist as needed.
- Training
- Participate in in-service training to satisfy agency needs/requirements.
- Complete all assigned online training assignments within a timeframe.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned
- Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and/or directly related work experience.
- Experience in vocational and/or support training of persons with disabilities
- Valid driver's license, a good driving record, and a willingness to use one's own vehicle in the performance of duties. (No more than 2 violations in a 3-year period and no serious violations including DUI and Reckless Driving within 7 years).
