ECHO Inc. is hiring a Molding Process Technician. The Molding Process Technician is responsible for the effective functioning of equipment and machinery in the mold room during the second shift.
2nd Shift 2:30pm - 11:00pm $29 - $32/HR depending on experience $1 Shift Differential yearly bonus!

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Maintain process control across all injection molding machines, always ensuring the production of acceptable quality parts.
- Implement necessary parameter changes within process control limits to uphold high-quality standards.
- Collaborate with a small team (2-3 technicians per shift) to efficiently change molds as needed, with an average mold change time of approximately 25 minutes.
- Handle all mold changes, eliminating the need for setup/die-setter techs.
- Set up end-of-arm tooling during mold changes and learn to make parameter adjustments to robot programs for efficient start-ups post-mold change.
- Initiate start-up procedures for various injection molding technologies, including gas-assist molding, 2-shot molding, high cavitation molding, and insert automated molding. It is crucial for all technicians to start up and maintain all technologies within the department.
- Maintain a clean and organized production facility, adhering to standard 5S practices.
- Document critical process parameters for all molding machines daily, following QS and ISO control practices.
- Quickly grasp Echo's complex material handling system and familiarize yourself with all resins used.
- Assist material handlers with material changes and color changes as required.
- Lead by example on the production floor, setting a dedicated, efficient, and hard-working standard for all other employees/groups within the department.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a setup tech and process tech role is required.
- Experience with setting up new processes and launching new molds is preferred, but not required.
- Experience working with gantry-mounted robotics is necessary. This is a core responsibility for Echo process technicians. Echo has Sepro, Yushin, and STAR robots.
- Experience with robotic programming, even simple pick-and-place position teaching is a plus. Must be able to learn how to teach all robots through onsite training that will be provided by ECHO’s Automation Engineers and by experienced Process Technicians.
- In depth understanding of all auxiliary process control and the effects that each piece of equipment has on the molding process/cycle is necessary. This includes knowledge of water flow and temperature, resin drying, shear heat, screw design, etc.
- Extensive knowledge of processing with glass filled nylon resins is necessary. Echo also uses PP, TPE, TPU, POM, HDPE, LDPE, GFPP, and CFPP resins.
- Must be a “quick thinker” and be able to memorize multiple facets of Echo’s operation very quickly. Echo has over 750 production molds that run every month, so there is a lot of information and custom applications that need to be remembered in order to support the operation as required.
- Ability to work in a faced-paced, efficient, accountability driven environment is necessary in order to be successful in this role.
- Ability to speak Spanish and English is preferred. Ability to read, write, and speak English is required.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. intermittently. Must be physically capable of the demands of the job, which includes a lot of bending, face-paced walking, climbing, and working in non-traditional positions.
