Our Patient Account Representative reports to our Revenue Director and supports Edgerton Hospital - Fulton Corners location by performing the following duties:

Self-Pay Billing & Payment Posting
- Daily statement runs
- EFT processing
- Daily deposit batches and balancing
- Posts collection agency payments and remits
- Runs recurring credit card payments
- Ensures accurate reimbursement on claims and updating fee schedules
- Payment Plans
- Sets up payments plans
- Manages payment plan follow-ups
- Incoming Emails & Communications
- Responds to questions from vendors and coding team regarding patient billing
- Communicates with Transworld and ACI for accounts and statements
- Workqueues (WQ) & Billing Activities
- Prints and follows up on self-pay letters
- Handles undistributed payments, denials, and follow-ups
- Manages insurance and self-pay credits, including refunds
- Deals with bad debt, pre-collections, and claim edits
- Incoming Mail & Calls
- Handles patient payments and payment plan setups
- Processes refund requests
- Addresses incoming billing calls and voicemail inquiries
- Patient Interactions
- Answers patient financial questions
- Provides clarity on bills and offering good faith estimates for surgeries and treatments
- Payment Support
- Assists with collecting deductibles and co-pays
- Reaches out to patients about large payments before procedures
- Helps patients set up payment plans
- Enrollment & Applications
- Assists with Medicaid enrollment, ABN, and Community Care applications
- Collaboration
- Works closely with registration and clinical teams for front-end collections and patient inquiries
- Graduate of high school.
- One to two years of customer service and/or collections experience preferred.
- Knowledge of reimbursement practices for commercial and government payers.
- Familiarity with medical terminology desired.
