Edgewater Federal Solutions, Inc. is Hiring a Business Analyst Near Washington, DC

Overview

Edgewater is hiring a Business Analyst to support the Department of Energy (DOE)'s Office of Management (MA). They are responsible for implementing the conference reporting and approval processes established by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), Memorandum M-12-12, Promoting Efficient Spending to Support Agency Operations. The program provides guidance and direction on conference planning and management to the entire Department. The program is also responsible for administering the Department's conference interface application and database functionalities, for providing management reports and approval packages, and ensuring that the program is managed in accordance with OMB directives, Office of lnspector General (OIG) reporting requirements, and DOE issued policies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide management consulting support to decision makers ensuring that the program is managed in accordance with OMB directives, OIG reporting requirements, and DOE issued
  • Monitor Departmental communications a related to DOE Conference Management and other Public Law-related Effectively prioritize workflow, track issues, and provide guidance or database assistance in a timely manner.
  • Write and maintain program documentation and weekly, monthly, annual, and ad hoc status reports effectively, concisely and clearly to meet Public Law requirements.
  • Analyze Departmental performance and statistics, and provide database and guidance insight to senior management.
  • Professionally interface with all levels of federal management, stakeholders, and administrative personnel.
  • Provide assistance to users by researching and answering questions, investigating and resolving problems, and troubleshooting issues.
  • Conduct training sessions for stakeholders via one-to-one desk side training, webinars, conference calls and other communications means.
  • Recommend process improvements, gather business, functional and technical requirements to improve the overall program.
  • Review data for errors, duplications and completeness with a high level of detail to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
  • Assist with Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests for DOE conference attendance, sponsorships and expenditures.

Qualifications

  • US Citizen (REQUIRED)
  • Ability to obtain a DOE BAO
  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and work

Skills and Competencies:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, specifically with the manipulation and presentation of data within Excel.
  • Experience providing customer service or a support center/help desk
  • Attention to detail and strong interpersonal, communication, training, and organizational skills, and ability to work effectively with minimal oversight.
  • Skills using a computer application to enter, manipulate, and format text and numerical data; insert, delete, and manipulate cells, rows, and columns; and create and save worksheets, charts, and graphs.
  • Experience using a computer application to manage large amounts of information, inputting data, retrieving specific records, and creating reports to communicate the information.
  • Working knowledge or ability to quickly learn Federal Travel Regulations (FTR), Code of Federal Regulations CFR), all Memoranda issued by 0MB pertaining to Federal conference attendance, approval and reporting of conference activity, and any Public Law requirements for conference activity as mandated by Congressional Appropriations Act.
