Key Responsibilities:
- Software Development:
- Design, code, test, and deploy software applications using PICK Basic in UniVerse environments.
- Develop and maintain custom applications and modules to meet specific business needs.
- Perform code reviews and optimize existing code for better performance and maintainability.
- Database Management:
- Manage UniVerse databases, including schema design, indexing, and query optimization.
- Develop and execute complex queries to support reporting and data analysis needs.
- Ensure data integrity and security across all applications.
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Collaborate with business analysts, project managers, and end-users to gather and analyze requirements.
- Conduct thorough testing of all applications, including unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing.
- Identify potential issues early in the development process and implement solutions to mitigate risks.
- Ensure compliance with company standards and industry best practices.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience:
- 10 years of experience in PICK programming within UniVerse and/or UniData environments.
- 5 years of development experience supporting Order Management, Manufacturing, and Finance applications
- Strong experience with multi-value database management and development.
- Experience in integrating UniVerse/UniData applications with other systems.
- Skills:
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Project management. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
- Experience using JSON, REST APIs, and Asynchronous calls is a plus
- Unix (AIX) shell scripting and universe system administration skills preferred
- Knowledge of web technologies and integration with multi-value databases
