Job Summary

The Application Engineer, reporting directly to the Application Engineering Manager, is responsible for assessing customer and business needs and providing solutions for all technical aspects during the bid phase.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Review customer requirements and provide preliminary (budget) design and costing of wastewater treatment equipment.
• Review specifications and drawings for bidding projects and prepare bid costing and proposals.
• Engage other departments (engineering, finance, operations) for department specific needs for designs and bids.
• Manage bidding and proposal schedules and deadlines.
• Maintain accurate records of opportunities, quotes, projects, contacts and correspondence in company approved databases including project handoff to project management team.
• Resolve customer issues or difficulties in a manner that is consistent with the company mission, values, and financial objectives.
  
  

Skills And Experience

• Preferred certificate, associate or bachelors degree in an engineering specialty or equivalent industry-related field.
• Preferred 2 years experience in application engineering.
• Experience in wastewater and/or manufacturing a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills including ability to complete complex RFQ’s.
• Excellent attention to detail; well organized.
• Self-starter with ability to work independently while functioning as part of a team.
• Proficient in Microsoft office programs.
