Are you goal driven? Then the Job Developer/Education Mentor position is for you! We are seeking a dynamic and team-oriented individual to join our spirited team.
As the Job Developer/Education Mentor, you will have the overall responsibility for building business relationships with current, former and new clients that lead to On-the-Job Training, work experience and employment for Youth Build participants. Also providing educational mentoring for job readiness and educational blocks within curriculum.
Responsibilities
Successful Elements:
- Create an individual plan that identify the steps necessary for youth to reach personal, academic, and employment goals
- Maintain a caseload of 25-30 clients in which weekly contact must be made to assist youth in reaching educational and employment goals
- Provide education and mentoring services to participants that are in need of additional support
- Ability to establish a professional working relationship with all levels of internal and external staff and participants
- Provide career counseling, problem solve with participants to resolve barriers to employment maintain knowledge of community resources
- Establish relationships with employers to secure permanent and full-time employment/internship/apprenticeship opportunities for young adultsCreate students’ physical files and ensure they are in compliance with company standards
- Follow up with employers to ensure that client expectations are met
- Represent EDSI/SLATE at conferences, meetings and selected social functions as required
Qualifications
Required Experience and Education:
- Marketing and sales experience preferred
- Customer service experience required
- Must be comfortable working with young adults, and possible barriers to success
- Must be comfortable making presentations to large groups of people
- Must be able to work independently with little or no supervision
- Good interpersonal skills
- Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s degree, and three years of work experience in case management/human services or related experience preferred
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
