Job Description

The Health Promotion, Practice, and Innovation (HPPI) portfolio, within EDC's US Division, includes a range of projects that aim to promote social and emotional wellbeing, promote mental and behavioral health, reduce trauma, and to prevent risky behaviors such as substance misuse, violence, and suicide. Our work includes training and professional development opportunities, technical assistance and consultation, and research and evaluation.

The HPPI Portfolio has an opening for a full-time Project Coordinator I, reporting to the Operations Project Manager. This position will support one or more projects related to suicide prevention and other behavioral health areas. EDC and HPPI promote building capacity within and across projects to improve the health equity outcomes of communities we serve. While the majority of the initial effort for this candidate will primarily support one project, they could be called upon to support other portfolio work as business demands. The Project Coordinator I is expected to collaborate across teams.

The individual hired for this position is eligible to work in one of EDC’s offices (Waltham, MA; Washington, DC; New York, NY; Chicago, IL) or may be a U.S.-based telecommuter. Internationally based telecommuters are not eligible for this position.

This entry-level position will be most suited to a curious, versatile, energetic person who demonstrates initiative and is interested in working in a fast-paced non-profit environment. In this role, you will be exposed to a range of tasks and assignments. For example, in a typical month you may be asked to help set up or update document storage spaces, support a national advisory group convening, provide logistical assistance for virtual communities of practice, and schedule and document action items from project team meetings. An ideal candidate asks questions and provides feedback to help teams achieve maximum efficiency and quality. You will receive support and coaching as you grow your skills and deepen your interests.

You will provide support to project staff to ensure efficient and effective project delivery or task completion. Tasks may include:

  • General project management support from developing filing structures and monitoring budgets, to supporting project leads with timelines, milestones, and tracking mechanisms
  • Supporting virtual and in-person events by helping with materials production, managing logistical details, coordinating technical support, and supporting event facilitation
  • General administrative duties including scheduling meetings, taking notes, assisting in project procurement, and overseeing technical consultants
  • Supporting recruiting and hiring efforts
  • Assisting with internal and external communication and knowledge sharing efforts
  • Advancing business development by supporting proposal teams and tasks, assisting proposal writing, conducting light research, drafting sections, writing bios and resumes of technical experts, and other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications

This position requires educational achievement; strong writing skills; demonstrable initiative, creativity, and flexibility; ability to work independently and effectively in groups; and strong interpersonal & organizational skills.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education & experience

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Interest in public health, behavioral health, or health systems
  • Organizational & analytical skills and aptitude for details
  • Experience hosting online events
  • Experience managing online project management and organizational tools, such as sharepoint, Box, etc.
  • Strong computer skills and capacity to learn new programs and software

This position offers an anticipated annual base salary range of approximately $52,000 to $60,000. Salary offers are made based on market analysis and internal equity
