Assistant Teacher

Job description

Responsibilities:

• Assist the lead teacher in implementing lesson plans and educational activities
• Provide support and guidance to students in their learning and development
• Help create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
• Assist with classroom management and behavior management strategies
• Collaborate with the lead teacher to assess student progress and provide feedback
• Support students with special needs or individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Assist with the preparation and organization of materials for lessons and activities
• Foster a love for learning by engaging students in educational games and activities
• Promote literacy education by reading to students and helping them develop reading skills
• Assist with curriculum development and implementation

Qualifications:

• Experience working with students, preferably in an educational setting
• Knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Proficiency in math concepts and ability to assist students with math skills
• Familiarity with daycare or child welfare regulations and best practices
• Ability to educate and engage students of diverse backgrounds and abilities
• Effective classroom management skills to maintain a positive learning environment
• Experience in curriculum development or lesson planning is a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour

*8 hour shift *Monday to Friday, open 6 am to 6 pm

Work Location: In person

Available shifts and compensation: Available shifts all days except Sundays and Saturdays. Compensation is $16.00 - $19.00/hour.
