Overview

Do you have a passion for marketing and brand awareness? Are you a leader in your community who is passionate about building relationships? We are looking for you! 

Marketing at EMF, functions by acting as a ministry-to-marketplace matchmaker for each of EMF’s brands and associated products. As part of the broader EMF Marketing department, The Community Engagement team (composed of field marketing teams) exists to create a highly potent, tangible presence in our local markets. By developing relationships in our communities, connecting with our audience at events, and building a local partnership network, we aim to bring our brands to life in a way that serves our community and helps to further the mission of EMF.

As our Marketing Manager you are responsible for the development and execution of a localized market plan that increases brand awareness and engagement. You will deepen our reach and influence through strengthening our local partnership network, growing our event calendar, fulfilling promotional campaigns, and executing experiential marketing tactics. You will lead a team of Marketing Coordinator(s) and a Brand Ambassador in their specified market. We’re looking for a leader who can galvanize their team around common goals and strategically deploy in-market boots on the ground for local activations and initiatives.

This role is based in our Tempe office. We are considering candidates from the greater Phoenix area. 

Here's some of what you will be doing as Marketing Manager of our Phoenix team...

Leadership:

  • Proactively influence our culture, leading by example in demonstrating collaboration, empowerment, innovation, creativity and service, while being a faithful witness on and off the job of EMF’s mission to create compelling media that inspires and encourages our listeners to have a meaningful relationship with Christ.
  • Provide leadership and day-to-day management for Marketing Manager and Brand Ambassador.
  • Recruit, train, mentor, coach and develop Marketing Coordinators and Brand Ambassador; conducting annual performance evaluations and providing frequent feedback.
  • Responsible for strategically creating a tangible presence in the community by developing relationships, connecting with target audience through onsite event activations, and building an extensive partnership network.
  • Partners and manages relationships with internal stakeholders including Media Underwriting, Donor Engagement, Public Affairs, and other EMF Departments.
  • Develop a team of approved volunteers to positively represent K-LOVE and Air1 and to assist with engagements at events and concerts.

Marketing Manager Role:

  • Ensure brand consistency and adherence to standard operational procedures in the office.
  • Develop and build relationships within the community that result in mutually beneficial partnerships that increase our reach within our target audience.
  • Develop and maintain an ongoing calendar of events and on-air content that helps to increase listenership, deepen listener experience with our brands, and increase community impact.
  • Creates local event marketing plan, from partnership development to event execution, drawing upon the input and counsel of regional leadership to assemble the best approach to engage attendees.
  • Proactively suggest innovative ways to reach potential listeners, spotlight EMF brands/products and increase engagement in our digital spaces and communities. (ie. web, socials…)
  • Partner with promoters and ministries to market events/concerts that are consistent with the format and audience for K-LOVE and Air1 radio brands.
  • Utilizes objectives and key results that aid in reaching departmental metrics and goals.
  • Ensures consistency and excellence in messaging and brand presentation.
  • Assist and contribute to special projects as assigned by Regional Managers or Director of Community Engagement.

Talent and Leadership Development:

  • Provide strategic leadership, mentoring and coaching that foster a highly competent and responsive Community Engagement Team.
  • Fosters an environment in which learning, growth and development are the norm and creativity and innovation are encouraged.
  • Communicates clear strategy and expectations that align with Community Engagement goals and objectives.
  • Maintains office schedule of event staffing, regular team meetings and routine staff development.
  • Utilize the EMF Leadership Framework in setting professional goals for self and direct reports.
  • Actively seek and partake in training and education that develops your marketing/business acumen, professional leadership, and soft skills.
  • Participate in ministry internal and external learning opportunities that build and nurture your faith.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate the qualities of a life-time learner in the disciplines relevant to effectively lead and perform job duties by taking personal responsibility for professional development and training.
  • Serve as a local operational resource, listening daily to local EMF signals serving as local “eyes and ears” for EMF, informing headquarters of any signal disruptions.
  • Actively participate and contribute to ministry wide initiatives and projects like Pledge Drives (daily shifts), Daily Prayer (one time per day), All Team Meetings, All Team Celebrations - like our annual banquet, Summits (Remote Teams), Service Projects and others as announced. These initiatives, and others, are key components of the ministry, our culture and are more fun to do together!
  • Support and contribute to ministry endeavors by following employment policies and practices and supporting a safe and healthy work environment. Specifically, follow EMF’s Injury Prevention and Safety program, support and maintain safety standards, and participate in safety training.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Here's What We Are Looking For...

  • Bachelors’ Degree in marketing, communications or combination of education/training with relevant experience.
  •  Must have prior experience managing direct reports or leading a team.
  •  Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in marketing, promotions & events, or equivalent.
  •  Strong organizational and administrative skills.
  •  Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop sincere business/ministry relationships.
  •  Strong communication skills to articulate value to potential partners.
  •  Demonstrated ability to work independently, establishing and meeting performance/market goals.
  •  Top notch professionalism and soft-skills.
  •  A collaborative and flexible work style, with strong servant-leadership approach.
  •  Radio Promotions Experience – preferred, not required.

Employment Requirements:

  • Must pass a pre-employment reference and background screen.
  • Proof of legal authorization to work in the United States required upon hire.
  • Proof of valid driver’s license.
