Data Governance Consultant

Position: Data Governance Specialist

About:

We are looking for a Data Governance Specialist who would be instrumental in managing and enhancing our data resources for our client.

Project Duration:

6 months to 12 months

Location:

USA Remote 100%.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in developing solution strategies related to data governance and meta data management

• Lead implementation workstreams to deliver data governance tools and technologies that support data management initiatives and effective decision-making

• Develop, implement, and manage the organization's data catalog to ensure that data across all systems is accurately cataloged, described, and accessible to stakeholders.

• Integrate the data catalog with existing data management and analytics platforms.

• Conducting training sessions and creating user guides for stakeholders across various departments.

• Implement and monitor data quality metrics and standards to ensure high-quality data documentation and metadata management.

• Lead the development of metadata standards and practices, including the definition of data attributes, taxonomies, and classification schemes.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in data management roles, with at least 2 years focused on data cataloging, metadata management, or related areas.

• In-depth understanding of data cataloging principles, metadata management, and data governance frameworks.

• Experience with leading data catalog and metadata management platforms and tools like Big Query, Data Catalogs, Data Quality tools.

• Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in data governance.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail.

• Proven ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional and geographically diverse organization.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of explaining complex data concepts in simple terms.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $45.00 - $50.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
