Position: IT Project Manager

About:

We are looking for an IT Project Manager to oversee and manage data center server and apps migration projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in leading complex migration efforts, including on-premises to cloud, on-premises to on-premises, and hybrid environments. This position requires a dynamic individual with excellent organizational, communication, and technical skills to ensure the successful delivery of migration projects within scope, timeline, and budget.

Indianapolis, IN

Dayton, OH

Arlington, VA

Very strong candidates outside the above locations may be considered for Remote work.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Project Management: Lead and manage end-to-end data center migration projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.

• Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT infrastructure, application owners, and business units, to define project scope, timelines, and deliverables.

• Planning and Execution: Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and risk assessments for migration activities, ensuring minimal downtime and impact to business operations.

• Vendor Management: Coordinate with external vendors, cloud providers, and third-party service providers to ensure smooth transitions and adherence to service-level agreements (SLAs).

• Technical Oversight: Provide oversight and guidance on the technical aspects of migrations, including server relocations, application rehosting, and hybrid integration strategies.

• Risk Management: Identify potential risks, develop mitigation plans, and ensure compliance with organizational security and data protection standards.

• Monitoring and Reporting: Track project progress, manage budgets, and provide regular status updates to stakeholders and senior management.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field

• 7 years of experience in IT project management, with a strong focus on data center migration projects.

• Experience with large-scale enterprise migrations involving critical applications.

• PMP or equivalent certification is a definite plus

• Knowledge of ITIL frameworks and practices.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud and related migration tools and methodologies.

• Proficiency in project management tools such as MS Project, Jira, or equivalent.

• Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, networking, and application dependencies.

• Familiarity with disaster recovery planning and business continuity management.

• Understanding of data governance and compliance requirements in migration projects.

• Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $75.00 - $80.00 per hour

Compensation Package:

• 1099 contract
• Yearly pay

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
