Job Title: Music Teacher-Elementary

Reports To: Building Principal and Supervisor of Fine and Performing Arts

Job Purpose: To facilitate students in meeting and exceeding state and national performing arts standards related to creating, performing and responding to music. In addition, a member of the EHT performing arts department is expected to infuse district goals and initiatives into the culture of their classroom and programming.

Qualifications-Required:
NJ Teacher of Music K-12 Certification (Standard, CEAS, CE)
Knowledge of New Jersey Student Learning Standards (NJSLS)
Ability to deliver appropriate instruction and musical experiences aligning with IEP's and PK-5 elementary NJSLS for Music
Experience playing a musical instrument
Excellent interpersonal skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent classroom management skills
Ability to teach and perform on a Wind, Brass, String or Percussion instrument
Ability to create and deliver lesson plans
Ability to motivate and engage students
Ability to collaborate and interact with fellow teachers and administrators
Ability to use technology with daily lesson plans
Able to pass the Sexual Misconduct/Child Abuse Disclosure
Able to pass the Criminal History Review
Able to pass pre-employment physical exam

Qualifications-Desired:
Experience teaching elementary students
Ability to accompany a rehearsal or performance on piano/keyboard
Experience programming, rehearsing, and directing themed and seasonal concerts & performances
Ability to recruit and audition students for various ensembles

Duties/Responsibilities:
Creates and implements lesson plans and sets rigorous target goals for students
Follows and teaches skills in accordance with New Jersey Student Learning Standards (NJSLS)
Participates in PLC for music teachers as well as other subjects.
Forms a strong, collaborative relationship with fellow music educators in and out of the Egg Harbor Township School District
Works with administration, parents, and all stakeholders to participate in various performance opportunities

Minimum prorated salary of $57,708 (BA, Step 1) as per EHTEA Contract

Able to exert a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects in the classroom
