Live-In Caregiver
Location: Rockaway, NJ
LIVE RENT FREE, FLEXIBLE DAY TIME HOURS ALSO AVAILABLE!!
Looking for a live-in caregiver for a young man with developmental disabilities, who lives in his own apartment. He loves to listen to music, hiking, walking and being outside. Keeping him busy and engaged and following a schedule is very important to him and his family.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, following behavior plans, using de-escalation, energetic and caring. You will be a resident of the apartment and have your own bedroom with the remaining considered a shared space.
Responsibilities will include BUT not limited to:
- Light meal preparation and feeding
- Medication preparation and administration
- House maintenance and chores
- Overnight monitoring
- Assisting with de-escalation and following behavior plan
- Emergency coverage for vacation and call outs
- Being a team player and communication between all staff
Requirements:
- Must be willing to have a background check, drug screen and fingerprinting done.
- Must have a valid Driver’s license and reliable vehicle for transportation.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
Schedule:
- Overnight 5 nights per week, flexible days for the right candidate.
- Live-in position
- Additional Full-Time hours also available
- Flexible depending on needs and desires.
- Per-diem (as needed) a patient and caring self-directed employee for a fun, active and social young woman living at home with her family. Connecting to her community is important to her as well as her family. She enjoys staying busy and engaged.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Part of the position will be assisting her with household chores, organization skills, reading, and personal care.
- Knowledge with American Sign Language is a plus but not required.
- Candidates should be knowledgeable and comfortable working with IPAD and have full understanding that it is used for communication purposes.
- Reliable car is a must.
- No smoking allowed on the property.
- Training will be provided.
Requirements:
- The employee must be willing to have a background check and drug screen done.

- RBT and ABA experience working with people with developmental disabilities is preferred.
Payroll will be managed through PPL
Job Types: Part-time
Salary: **Rent and utilities will be paid for the live-in caregiver plus a $1000 stipend per month.

Education:
- High school or equivalent (Required)
Experience:
- RBT and ABA experience working with people with developmental disabilities is preferred.
