Scrub Technician

A Scrub Tech (also known as a Surgical Technologist or Scrub Surgical Technologist) plays an essential role in the operating room by assisting surgeons, nurses, and other surgical staff during medical procedures. The primary responsibility of a Scrub Tech is to maintain a sterile environment, prepare surgical instruments and supplies, and assist the surgical team to ensure the surgery proceeds smoothly and safely.

Required Qualifications:

• Education:
• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program (certificate or associate’s degree).
• Certification:
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) is preferred or required in many settings.
• Some employers may accept state certification or offer on-the-job training, though certification is typically preferred.
• Experience:
• Prior experience in a clinical or surgical setting is advantageous but not always required.
• On-the-job training or internships may be available for newly certified Scrub Techs.
• Licensure:
• Some states may require specific licensure or registration, in addition to certification.

Payrate:

Weekly Gross: $2470

Weekly stipend: $1066
