About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Injection Molding Operator to set up, operate, and maintain injection molding machines in a fast-paced production environment. This role involves monitoring the molding process, ensuring quality standards, and troubleshooting machine issues to maintain efficiency.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment
- Follow standard operating procedures and quality standards to ensure compliance with industry regulations.
- Operate and monitor injection molding machines to produce high-quality automotive components.
- Perform machine setup and changeovers per production requirements.
- Inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, and gauges to ensure quality and adherence to specifications.
- Count good, rejected, and rework parts
- Identify and report any machine downtime
- Insert material into/remove them from the systems
- Ensure the use of 5S methodology at the workstation
- Work through cleaning and inspection plans
- Perform the machining steps set out in the work plan
- Confirm good, rejected, and rework parts, the machining time and downtime, and the reasons for deviations in the defined ERP system
- Execute the material request and the material consumption posting in the defined ERP system
- Pack and label produced parts as per the defined specifications
- Complete defined quality checks
- Use individual systems and/or implement multi-system operation
- Start and restart systems, as per the documentation or specifications
- Fix temporary machine interruptions that fall within the defined responsibility
- Escalate technical problems in line with the defined escalation matrix
- Carryout set-up processes
- Other duties, as assigned.
About You:
- 1-3 years’ experience in injection molding, preferably in the automotive industry.
- Technical Skills: Knowledge of injection molding machines, mold setups, and process troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with robotic part handling and auxiliary equipment (dryers, grinders, chillers, etc.).
- Quality Focus: Ability to read blueprints, work instructions, and measurement tools.
- Strong understanding of plastics materials, molding defects, and corrective actions.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to perform minor equipment adjustments.
