Requirements
Qualifications and Experience
- High School Diploma required
- BS, MHA or MBA preferred
- Licensure in clinical care (MA, EMT, Paramedic, RT, ATC, LPN, RN) recommended
- Previous supervisory experience in a medical setting required
- Understanding of OSHA guidelines for office practices
- Basic understanding of utilization review, quality assurance, and managed care process
- Experience communicating and interacting with physicians, patients, and staff
- Excellent documentation, communication, and time management skills
- Proficient in computer operations, data entry, and practice management software
- Ability to exercise initiative, problem-solving, and decision-making to effectively plan, prioritize, and complete projects/tasks in a faced paced, changing environment
- Interviews, hires, trains, evaluates, and disciplines all assigned clinical personnel
- Ensures all clinical personnel are appropriately trained, licensed, and credentialed
- Supervises the development of clinical job descriptions
- Provides oversight to the schedules for all assigned clinical personnel in designated practice sites—recommends changes and improvements as needed
- Grants/denies days off for clinical staff according to coverage and practice policy; ensures all clinical posts are filled at all times
- Provides oversight for coordinating patient schedules with physician schedules
- Completes payroll for assigned clinical employees
- Participates in initial orientation for new employees
- Schedules and facilitates clinical in-services for staff
- Monitors staff for compliance with continuing education requirements
- Directs and evaluates delegated tasks according to the scope of practice and employee skill set
- Provides supervision for assigned clinical staff including unlicensed assistive personnel
- Maintains records of employee vaccinations and TB screening to ensure compliance with OSHA and CDC guidelines
- Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations
- Maintains patient confidentiality; complies with HIPAA privacy and confidentiality guidelines established by the practice
- Maintains detailed knowledge of practice management and other computer software as it relates to job functions
- Maintains compliance with practice policies and procedures
- Attends annual CPR, OSHA, or other designated training programs
- Attends all regular meetings
- Performs all other tasks and projects assigned by the DCO, executive leadership, or physicians
- Performs other duties as required and assigned by Manager, including schedule changes and travel to office locations as assigned
- Travel to regional locations required up to 20%
