Emler Swim School is Hiring a Payroll and Benefits Manager Near Dallas, TX

Emler Swim School is seeking a Payroll and Benefits Manager to support over 30 locations by preparing and running payroll cycles and managing benefits for all employees. The position requires strong organizational and analytical skills, attention to detail and a proven record of meeting important deadlines. The primary responsibility will be processing and reporting payroll for several hundred employees across multiple states. The position is based at Emler Swim School’s Headquarters located in Grapevine, Texas and reports in office with a hybrid remote option.

Responsibilities: 

  • Prepare and run payroll cycles for exempt and non-exempt employees following company payroll practices using ADP WorkforceNow
  • Review timecards for nonexempt employees to ensure accuracy prior to processing
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state and local regulatory reporting requirements and guidelines
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state wage and hour laws
  • Help maintain and update the HRIS system with new hires, existing employee updates, terminations, salary updates, and upload documentation into employee files
  • Process W-4s and issue W-2s for all employees 
  • Processes pay adjustments, special payments, tax allocations, and employee deductions as needed
  • Maintains confidentiality of sensitive employee and ensures all payroll information, files and records are maintained
  • Excellent communication skills with an ability to effectively handle and resolve employee inquiries and issues
  • Prepare memos/communications that need to go to employees and managers as necessary
  • Track employee eligibility for 401k and provide resources, information and documentation for participants and company
  • Leads planning and analysis of voluntary benefit programs and manages the annual open enrollment process. 
  • Develops and maintains relationships with benefit carriers and vendors to negotiate contracts, develop plans and anticipate renewals or changes. 
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and adhere to budget planning and business development as appropriate. 
  • Manage regular benefit communication for new hires, ensure enrollments and changes occur on time and in compliance, and manage ACA compliance, including handling changes as a result of measurement periods and completing IRS reporting.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required with preference in related field (Human Resources, Finance, Accounting, Business)
  • 2 years experience in Payroll and Benefits required 
  • Experience creating detailed reports and proficiency using Excel
  • Understanding of voluntary deductions
  • Experience and exposure to general accounting and accounts payable
  • Experience within a medium to large size company with multi-state locations and high-volume processing
  • ADP WorkforceNow Payroll and Benefits experience is required.
