Neurodiversity Specialist Summary: The Neurodiversity Specialist is responsible for providing specialized support and care to individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism. They play a crucial role in promoting their well-being, independence, and community integration. This position requires shift work with the individuals served, administrative hours, as well as on-call and emergency fill-in responsibilities. Flexibility and open availability, including the possibility of weekend rotation, is a requirement for this role.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., special education, psychology, social work)
  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism
  • Knowledge and understanding of person-centered approaches and best practices in the field
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
  • Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to intellectual disabilities and autism services
  • Availability for shift work and willingness to be on-call for emergencies and fill-in shifts
  • Flexibility and open availability, including the possibility of weekend rotation
  • Job Duties:
  • Gather, Audit, Assess, and Publish onto the organizational drive:
  • Therap Documentation Data
  • Individual Behavioral Tracking
  • Individual Financial Records.
  • Scan and upload all paper documents to the organizational drive weekly. File paper forms in the appropriate binder.
  • Collaborate with the Program Specialists to create Individual CPS (Community Participation Support) schedules for assigned individuals, ensuring their needs and goals are addressed.
  • Perform shift work, providing direct support and care to individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism. This includes assisting with daily living activities, implementing behavior support plans, facilitating community participation, and promoting skill development.
  • Conduct bi-weekly medication audits and maintain accurate Electronic Medication Records (E-MARs) for individuals.
  • Perform weekly audits of individual records to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct monthly inspections using the Modified Inspection Tool, ensuring that all necessary improvements and corrective actions are addressed promptly and made available to applicable managers and executives.
  • Manage nutritional goal oversight of the individual you serve (ie. Meal Plan/Prep, Grocery Shopping)
  • Provide on-call support and fill-in coverage during emergencies or when staffing gaps occur.
  • Collaborate with external professionals, such as therapists, psychologists, and medical personnel, to facilitate coordinated care and support for individuals.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with individuals, their families, and the wider support network.
  • Stay up to date with current research, best practices, and advancements in the field of intellectual disabilities and autism, continuously seeking professional development opportunities.
  • Act as an advocate for individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism, promoting their rights, inclusion, and access to community resources and opportunities.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and comply with all organizational policies and legal requirements regarding data privacy and protection.

Pay: From $30.00 per hour
