Responsibilities
- Gather, analyze, and compose complex technical information. This would include collaboration with subject matter experts, engineers, and project managers and online research to understand complex topics and convey them effectively to diverse audiences.
- Author, review and edit technical documents for consistency, clarity, and adherence to organizational standards. Ensure use of proper technical terminology.
- Prepare or commission graphics and illustrations to enhance technical writing.
- Review and validate scripts for documents, pictures, videos, and training materials to maintain accuracy, consistency, and alignment with organizational goals.
- Translate technical information into clear, readable documents suitable for both technical and non-technical personnel. Write and edit technical content accordingly.
- Prepare content for web pages.
- Apply knowledge of government writing style guides (e.g. Federal Plain Language Guidelines) to ensure compliance with official communication standards.
- Check compliance with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act accessibility standards set by the federal government to ensure that documents are accessible to individuals with disabilities.
- BA/BS required; certification in technical writing is a plus.
- Strong writing, editing and communication skills with attention to detail and accuracy. Proficiency in using tools/software for technical writing and editing.
- Familiarity with collaboration tools, content management systems (CMS) and version control systems (e.g., Git)
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to engage with technical and executive teams for content acquisition.
- Previous experience in technical writing or editing roles.
- Knowledge of industry-specific terminology (e.g., environment, technology, engineering, healthcare, etc.).
- Familiarity with government writing style guides.

Salary : $90,000 - $100,000
