About the Position
Energy Exemplar is seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Commissions Analyst to join our dynamic finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the administration, tracking, and reporting of commissions for our sales, solutions, and customer success teams, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance. You will play a key role in optimizing commission processes, analyzing compensation data, and working closely with cross-functional teams to support business objectives.
Commission Calculation & Administration:
- Oversee the end-to-end process for commission calculations, ensuring timely and accurate processing based on sales performance, commission plans, and contractual terms. Ensure compliance with company policies dictated by the commission plans.
Data Analysis & Reporting:
- Analyze and interpret data (including accounting data, CRM data, etc.) to generate insights on sales performance, commission trends, and forecasting. Provide regular and ad-hoc reports to senior management, sales, solutions, and customer success teams, and other stakeholders.
Commission Dispute Resolution:
- Act as a point of contact for commission-related questions, disputes, and escalations. Collaborate with sales, solutions, and customer success leadership and other departments to resolve any issues related to commission calculations or payouts.
Commission Plan Design and Support:
- Partner with Revenue Operations leadership to design, implement, and communicate commission structures and incentive programs. Provide input based on trends, market research, and internal data analysis.
Candidate Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in sales compensation, commissions analysis, or a related financial or analytical role.
- Proven experience in managing commission structures and compensation plans for sales teams.
- Strong proficiency in Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis).
- Experience with commission tracking software (e.g., Xactly, Spiff, or similar tools) and CRM systems (Salesforce, etc.). Implementation experience of such systems is a plus.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively, while maintaining attention to detail and quality.

Salary : $130,000 - $150,000
