Job Summary:
The Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for the management and coordination of the physician's clinic and surgery schedule. Previous surgery scheduling and/or insurance verification experience a must. The ideal candidate manages the insurance verification process, frequently calling insurance companies to acquire pre-authorizations. Must have excellent customer service skills along with strong critical thinking and analytical skills for problem solving. Must demonstrate professionalism at all times and have strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills. Working as a team member with the ability to build good relationships with hospital staff inside and outside the department is essential. Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high phone and patient volume environment. Ability to pay attention to details, often changing from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure. Able to use effective time management to set priorities. Job Essentials:
- 2 years surgery scheduling/insurance verification experience
- Knowledge of Epic or comparitive EMR system Bi-lingual Spanish preferred
Education Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Proficient in Microsoft applications, specifically Outlook and Word
