QUALITY MANAGER
We need a top-notch professional to provide leadership and management of the quality function, ensure
adherence to quality standards and procedures and identify/implement process improvements.
The Quality Manager provides leadership and management of the quality function, in accordance with all applicable company and U.S. Government regulations, policies and procedures. This position ensures that quality standards and procedures are met and aligned with regulations and customer specifications.
The Quality Manager is responsible for formulating, implementing and managing the organization's quality assurance policies. Will also establish performance standards, procedures, and audit controls in order to meet business requirements, as well as identify and implement process improvements to increase the efficiency, effectiveness, and quality of company operations. This is an On-Site position.
Minimum Requirements And Qualifications
- BA/BS degree in a related field or a related discipline or equivalent experience with more progressively challenging work requirements.
- Five to eight years' applicable experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills for effective interface with all internal and external contacts.
- Knowledge and experience with statistical improvement methods, and corrective action development experience.
- Experience with PFMEA, creation of work processes and Work Instructions.
- Experience with ISO 9001 or AS 9100 audits and has written a QA Control Plan, DoD manufacturing, low volume electronics manufacturing and start-up experience.
- Conversant with QA Tools such as fishbones, etc.
- Knows and understands the part safety plays in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated ability to provide leadership and motivation to employees.
Major Responsibility Areas And Duties
- Interfaces routinely with all plant functions (engineering, manufacturing, customers, and suppliers).
- Has management responsibilities for the Quality Department and reports to the Manufacturing Operations Manager.
- Assures quality requirements are adequately defined at all functional levels to permit appropriate quality planning and verification of compliance.
- Identifies, develops, and implements new methods of quality management and systems, and audits existing systems to meet ISO9001 and other customer requirements.
- Develops, implements, and maintains quality assurance activities for all purchased material, equipment, parts, and processing. Manages supplier quality audits and corrective action plans. Integrates and monitors supplier quality performance with company objectives.
- Works with customer representatives to coordinate inspection and acceptance activities.
- Maintains a working knowledge of government and industry quality standards.
- Leads root cause, non-conformance and manages the corrective action system.
- Champions Lean and ISO9001 initiatives within the Inspection Department.
- Ability to mentor, train and develop team members.
