Seeking a Cloud Enterprise Architect to lead development of Enterprise Cloud Architecture (Java, J2EE, Spring, Microservices, RESTful APIs, & Containers) to update Minnesota's Unemployment Insurance system. Work is hybrid in St. Paul, MN
- Design, write, test, debug and document software applications in Java, J2EE, and Spring
- Modernizing J2EE applications to a Spring framework Microservices architecture using Domain Driven Design principles
- Architect and document distributed application systems using the Spring framework, Microservices, RESTful APIs, and containerization
- Lead and organize the portfolio of mixed, concurrent projects to ensure consistency; including communication with technical and business leadership
- Lead development team and communicate with senior technical and business team members about business requirements, resource management and project progress
- Demonstrate a clear understanding of the history of Unemployment Insurance including laws, extensions, programs, changes, and expectations in order to build solutions with a strong historical knowledge and sufficient flexibility to manage future program needs
- Adhere to all defined deliverables including review with both MNIT and UI teams for every project
Use the state provided tools, templates, and processes to ensure transparency, knowledge transfer, and project agreement throughout the work. The State uses tools such as Microsoft Teams, IBM Engineering Lifecycle Management, Dynatrace, and Microsoft SharePoint -

Three or more years designing, writing, testing, debugging and documenting software applications in Java, J2EE, and Spring.
Three or more years of experience modernizing J2EE applications to a Spring Framework Microservices architecture using Domain Driven Design principles.
Three or more years architecting and documenting distributed application systems using the Spring Framework, microservices, RESTful APIs, and containerization.
Five years of experience as an architect in Unemployment Insurance programs or other regulated and audited government sector making tax calculations and direct-to-user payments through a workflow (not case managed) business model.
Two or more years of experience leading and organizing a portfolio of mixed, concurrent projects to ensure consistency; includes communication with technical and business leadership
BA or BS Degree (list college and degree)
Java and Enterprise Cloud Architecture certifications
