As a Rental Coordinator with a focus on department growth, you will lead the strategic expansion of our rental operations, driving revenue growth and market penetration. Responsibilities
- Rental Coordination - Engage with clients to understand their project requirements and timelines. Provide expert advice on suitable equipment options based on their needs. Managing the rental process, including booking reservations, processing rental agreements, and ensuring all necessary documentation is completed accurately and efficiently.
- Inventory Management - Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the company's inventory of heavy equipment, including specifications, availability, and maintenance schedules. Track incoming and outgoing rental equipment and overseeing the inventory of rental items or equipment, ensuring items are properly maintained, organized, and available for rental.
- Scheduling and Logistics - Coordinating the delivery and pickup of rental items, ensuring timely and efficient logistics to meet customer requirements.
- Strategic Planning - Develop and implement strategies to accelerate the growth of the rental department, aligning with company objectives and market trends. Identify new business opportunities and target markets for expansion.
- Customer Service Management - Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to foster long-term partnerships. Address any concerns or inquiries promptly and professionally. Interacting with customers, both in person and over the phone, to answer inquiries, provide information about available rentals, and assist in selecting the appropriate rental items for their needs.
- Equipment Recommendation - Utilize your knowledge of heavy equipment to recommend the most appropriate machinery for clients' projects, considering factors such as size, capacity, and functionality.
- Billing and payments - Prepare accurate rental quotes for clients and negotiate rental terms and contracts to ensure mutually beneficial agreements. Generating invoices, processing rental payments, and resolving any billing issues or discrepancies
- Market Analysis - Stay informed about industry trends, competitor offerings, and market demand for heavy equipment rentals. Provide insights and recommendations to management for enhancing our rental services.
- Documentation and Administration - Ensure all rental agreements, contracts, and paperwork are completed accurately and in compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Collaboration - Work closely with internal teams, including operations, logistics, and maintenance, to coordinate equipment deliveries, pickups, and servicing to meet client timelines.
- Observe health and safety precautions required to protect people and property.
- Oversee and assist with loading and securing of equipment for delivery.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Valid Alaska Driver’s License
- Driving record sufficient to meet company insurance standards
- 3 years of construction/industrial rentals and/or sales experience required
- Familiarity with construction equipment required
- Forklift experience preferred
- Experience operating equipment preferred
- Able to learn, understand and use computer software and hardware, including proficiency in Windows and Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Must present and communicate in a professional manner
- Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions
- Strong communication skills that include the ability to listen to, read, understand, write and speak English well enough to communicate, understand, train and respond; effectively conveying information to others, and giving full attention to what other people are saying and taking the time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times
- Able to self-motivate and work independently with minimal supervision; identifying what needs to be done and following through without instruction to meet or exceed goals
- Able to prioritize and effectively manage time to complete tasks, thoroughly, accurately and timely
- Able to lift and carry up to 60 lbs.
- Able to physically operate the tools and equipment necessary for the job
- Able to perform physical activities that require considerable use and dexterity of arms, legs, and moving the whole body, to include, but not limited to, sitting, standing, walking, bending, squatting, stooping, twisting, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying, and climbing and descending stairs and ladders; to operate equipment and tools requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination; to verbally communicate to exchange information; to see and hear within a reasonable range for a shop environment with or without correction.
