How You’ll Contribute:
As the Vice President, Investments (Real Estate Markets), you will lead, manage, and direct an investment team focused on achieving EquiTrust’s strategic goals and objectives. In this role, you will serve as a trusted advisor, coach, and mentor to your team, while collaborating across departments to implement initiatives that drive organizational success. This role offers the opportunity to spearhead new real estate investments, overseeing the entire lifecycle from sourcing to closing while actively managing existing portfolios.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead and manage a team of investment professionals, including hiring, performance appraisals, workload allocation, and talent development.
- Source and originate new real estate investments through established networks of sponsors and brokers.
- Conduct due diligence, underwriting, and risk analysis for new investment opportunities to ensure attractive risk-adjusted returns.
- Prepare and submit high-quality investment analyses and recommendations to the investment committee.
- Oversee portfolio management for newly originated investments and actively manage the existing portfolio, including monitoring, reporting, and budgeting.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with industry partners to source opportunities and track market trends.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including Treasury and Operations, to ensure seamless investment operations.
- Represent EquiTrust at real estate industry events and participate in site visits.
- Contribute to a positive and inclusive work environment by fostering collaboration and teamwork.
What You’ll Bring:
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field required
- CFA or MBA preferred
Experience:
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in real estate relationship management, underwriting, and/or portfolio management.
- Experience in a regulated environment, preferably within life insurance highly valued.
- Exposure to other asset classes a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Advanced interpersonal, analytical, and written communication skills.
- Established network within the real estate industry for sourcing investment opportunities.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with acute attention to detail.
- Demonstrated leadership in team environments and a collaborative mindset.
- High motivation and a strong desire to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit, stand, and use a computer for extended periods.

Compensation and Pay Philosophy:
The pay range for this role is $156,000.00-$214,500.00. This reflects the expected compensation for the position at the time of posting. The final offer will be based on factors such as the candidate’s experience, qualifications, geographic location, and internal equity, and may be higher or lower than the posted range. The pay range is subject to change in the future in accordance with applicable laws. EquiTrust is committed to fair and competitive compensation that considers individual and organizational needs.
