Position may be eligible for an annual bonus payment.

Position Summary
Manages the activities of assigned supervisors and personnel for one or multiple lines of business. Also develops, implements and maintains workflow, claims processes and new systems.
- The successful candidate will manage the Material Damage line of busi ness but could manage additional lines of business as assigned
- The successful candidate must reside within the Allentown Branch footprint or within a reasonable driving distance to the Claims office located in Allentown, PA
- This is an in office position, eligible for ERIE's hybrid work schedule
- Manages overall operations of designated area of authority. Interviews, hires, trains and directs personnel. Prepares and conducts performance assessments, coordinates discipline and oversees Employee development as required.
- Reviews claims correspondence and maintains working knowledge of files and reserves as necessary. Counsels claims personnel on further activity.
- Resolves coverage or unusual questions within designated authority. Conducts related research as necessary.
- Responds to claim complaints and inquiries from Policyholders and claimants.
- Assists the VP, Field Claims in the supervision of various claims processes and procedures.
- Makes recommendations to and participates with claims manager in developing and evaluating claims procedures.
- Ensures proper staffing. Coordinates vacations, meetings, seminars and other related activities.
- Evaluates and monitors equipment needs of the field office. Works to acquire items essential to claims operations.
- Interacts with branch management and Agents and assists or acts on behalf of the VP, Field Claims when necessary.
- Where applicable, directs salvage disposal. Review reports, payments and buyers and negotiates salvage contracts.
- Where applicable, approves stated value appraisals.

Minimum Educational Requirements
- High school diploma, or GED, required.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Seven years of claims adjusting experience, or related experience, required.
- Claims supervisory experience preferred.
- Where applicable, the position requires the incumbent to serve on the Catastrophe Team, which may include travel on short notice to other locations for periods in excess of two consecutive weeks.
- Completion of Associate in claims (AIC) designation preferred.
- Willingness to obtain and maintain any required licenses.
- Valid driver's license required.
