Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Psychiatric Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide compassionate care to patients with mental health disorders in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
- Monitor patient progress and report any changes to the healthcare team
- Educate patients and their families on mental health conditions and treatment options
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic patient care
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
Experience:
- Previous experience in psychiatric nursing preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology and psychiatric disorders
- Familiarity with utilization management and workers compensation law
- Experience working in a teaching hospital environment is a plus
- Ability to provide care for patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings
- Proficiency in conducting assessments such as spinal taps or cardiac catheterizations
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to provide compassionate care
