Summary

The Branch Manager/Project Manager directs, coordinates, and exercises functional authority for planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of engineering and construction materials testing (CMT) proposals and projects within the area of assigned responsibility by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.

As a Branch Manager/Project Manager, the individual works under the technical and administrative supervision of the Executive Vice President (Business Development). The individual may be a liaison between company departments and branch offices, serve as an assistant to the Engineering Manager, or provide unique expertise to the Engineering Department. The individual is responsible for client development and marketing within his/her geographic market. He/she prepares proposals and coordinates project requirements with client representatives and Eustis Engineering’s management and staff.

The employee will be subject to random screening as part of Eustis Engineering’s alcohol and drug abuse testing program.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Branch Manager/Project Manager’s duties and responsibilities include the following. Others may be assigned.

  • Helps with the ongoing development and execution of the business plan for the branch office based on the competitive marketplace.
  • Is responsible for staff activities and the financial status of the branch office.
  • Is responsible for implementation and adherence to corporate safety and quality control programs.
  • Provides direct supervision of staff and supervision of engineering construction as defined by the governing licensing board (e.g., Texas Engineering Practice Act).
  • Plans and implements projects including defining the project philosophy, activities, milestones, and staff requirements according to the client’s requirements.
  • Develops and maintains a schedule and budget for the project/office.
  • Provides reports on the status of project milestones and adjusts schedules accordingly.
  • Controls expenditures within limitations of project and office budget.
  • Identifies staffing requirements and coordinates staffing with upper management and human resources.
  • Coordinates preparation and delivery of project deliverables, design documents, and bid packages.
  • Assigns and oversees personnel to specific phases or aspects of projects such as technical studies, product design, preparation of specifications and technical plans, and product testing.
  • Reviews deliverables for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, client contract requirements, and related specifications.
  • Coordinates activities concerned with technical development, scheduling, and resolving problems.
  • Directs integration of technical activities and products.
  • Prepares interim and final project reports.
  • Interfaces with clients to provide project status reports and ensure clients’ needs are met.
  • Provides status and progress reports to clients, the project team, and upper management.

'Education and/or Experience

The following are the position’s education and/or experience requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited curriculum.
  • Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering. Professional geotechnical experience beyond a Bachelor of Science degree may be substituted for a Master of Science degree.
  • Registration status as a registered Professional Engineer in the state of work or residence.
  • Maintenance of continuing education requirements for registration.
