What are the responsibilities and job description for the Therapist position at Evangelical Childrens Home?
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Provide initial assessment of the child’s mental health functioning and assessment of their family support system
• Provide conjoint psychotherapy sessions to the child and members of their family support system
• Work closely with an interdisciplinary team and attend necessary meetings to facilitate continuity of care
o Maintain effective communication and relationships with ECH Case Manager, teachers, educational director, and other therapists of each child on caseload
• Complete documentation of therapy progress notes in a timely manner
o Submit necessary documentation for billing purposes within the designated time frame
• Write assessments and treatment plans, treatment summaries, and provide court reports on family progress when requested
• Provide monthly summaries, during Service Plan Review Meetings, of treatment goals being worked on and outcomes achieved
• Maintain a trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and client-responsive approach to therapeutic service delivery
• Maintain and meet all requirements for both State Licensure and ECH training expectations including initial hire trainings and on-going annual training expectations
• Serve as the "on-call" or "on-duty" clinician on a rotating basis and as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities
• This position is responsible for supervising the Residential Aftercare Specialist position. This is specifically intended to help bridge the gap between the residential program and the families or community placement providers that clients are returning to.
