What are the responsibilities and job description for the Intern position at Evans General Contractors?
Summary/Objective
Evans General Contractors, LLC (Evans) Internship Program offers talented college students the opportunity to gain meaningful hands-on experience working together with Evans’ team of industry experts. Evans’ goal is to support student’s growth and development by providing interns with a diversity of project-based tasks to apply and develop their skills. Additionally, throughout the internship program interns will have networking opportunities, access to Senior Management, and will participate of team-building activities.
Responsibilities
Interns will either rotate throughout through the Preconstruction, Operations and Field Divisions or depending on the student’s career goal, pick an area they want to focus on and will:
- Assist with material take-offs.
- Assist with scheduling.
- Support document control efforts.
- Assist the Preconstruction Division in preparing estimates.
- Create project status reports.
- Prepare purchase orders for review by Project Team.
- Assist with compiling punch-list.
- Review and assist with processing submittals.
- Compare subcontractor quotes.
- Monitor field work alongside the Project Team.
- Input data for labor cost reports and field quantity surveys.
- Assist with processing RFI's.
- Prepare document distributions to subcontractors for review by Project Team.
- Complete other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
Candidates for Evans’ Internship Program must be:
- Enrolled in an accredited University,
- Be in their Junior or Senior year, and
- Pursing a degree in construction management, construction engineering, civil engineering or equivalent.
