Athletic Trainer/Medical Assistant
Our busy sports medicine practice is looking for a Athletic Trainer to join our team. We are looking for an energetic and experienced ATC to work 1:1 with a sports medicine practitioner. This high-level, full time (4-5 days/wk) position involves assisting the practitioner in all aspects of providing quality patient care including but not limited to patient intake, chart prepping, obtaining imaging and medical documents and phlebotomy. The athletic training background is vital to this position as the ATC will be responsible for evaluating/examining patients prior to practitioner evaluation, casting/splinting, assisting with ultrasound guided procedures and 1:1 time with patients developing home exercise and rehabilitation programs.

Candidates must possess a strong ability to listen to and interpret medical information as described by the practitioner, the ability to type at a fast and accurate pace, excellent customer service, technical computer literacy, superior multi-tasking abilities, professional appearance and demeanor, and have a team-player attitude.
Primary Duties Include:
Facilitate smooth and efficient patient flow – electronically or in the office
Work collaboratively with clinical and administrative team to ensure all patient needs are met
Prepare each patient appropriately for each type of visit
Accurately chart all pertinent aspects of each patient visit
Collect vital signs for each patient interaction
Set up and assist providers when needed with sterile procedure (arthrocentesis, injections, etc.)
Initiate orders as indicated based on clinical protocols
Venipuncture
DME application
Casting/splinting of acute injuries
Initiation and follow-up of rehabilitation programs for patients with acute injuries and chronic issues
Job Requirements Include:
- ATC Certification with at least one year of experience preferred
Working knowledge of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
Working knowledge of sports medicine including medical terminology
High level computer skills across multiple platforms
Casting and splinting experience
Comprehensive clinical training can be provided to the right candidate who has limited experience.
