Role Description
Every Mother's Advocate (ĒMA) is seeking a passionate and community-driven Community
Engagement Manager to strengthen partnerships, mobilize resources, coordinate impactful
events and drive local engagement efforts within Broward County, Florida. This hybrid position is
designed for a self-led professional who excels in community networking, volunteer engagement,
and fostering collaboration to advance ĒMA’s mission of preventing family separation by
advocating for mothers in crisis.
The Community Engagement Manager will work closely with the Director of Broward and local
stakeholders, including churches, nonprofits, and volunteers, ensuring ĒMA’s programs are
supported and integrated within the community.
Key Objectives
Community Outreach and Partnership Development
- Collaborate with the Director of Broward to develop and execute engagement strategies that mobilize resources, build new community partnerships, and strengthen relationships with local organizations, churches, and community leaders.
- Represent ĒMA at local events, meetings, and conferences to increase awareness and foster collaborations.
- Track and report engagement outcomes and program impact to the Director of Broward.
Team Building and Management
- Recruit, train, and lead a team of staff to achieve community engagement objectives.
- Provide ongoing support and development opportunities to ensure team members are equipped to succeed.
- Foster a collaborative and empowering team culture that aligns with ĒMA’s mission and values.
Volunteer Recruitment and Engagement
- Build a strong volunteer base by actively recruiting and onboarding individuals passionate about ĒMA’s mission.
- Collaborate with the Training Department to connect stakeholders to training opportunities and provide feedback to refine training programs based on local needs.
Event Coordination and Support
- Plan and execute local events, including outreach initiatives, workshops, and community gatherings.
- Host regular volunteer appreciation events and create a culture of recognition and engagement.
- Oversee the scheduling and coordination of volunteers for events, in-office support and community initiatives.
Gift-in-Kind Donation Management
- Ensure a full stock of tangible, client incentives for ĒMA HQ offices serving mothers, maintaining a welcoming and well-organized space at all times.
- Develop and implement a process to receive, document, manage, and increase the volume of gift-in-kind donations.
- Work collaboratively across departments to build relationships with businesses, community groups, and donors to secure additional donations.
Qualifications and Skills
Required
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with a proven ability to cultivate partnerships and foster collaboration with organizations, churches, and community leaders.
- Demonstrated experience in organizing and executing events, including workshops and community gatherings, while utilizing volunteer support.
- Proven leadership abilities to develop, manage and inspire a team, while working independently and collaboratively to achieve goals.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to represent the organization effectively at public events and meetings.
- Proven skills in tracking, analyzing, and reporting outcomes related to community engagement.
- Experience in creating and implementing scalable and efficient processes.
- Two or more years of experience in the nonprofit sector.
Preferred
- Two or more years of experience engaging with and utilizing Broward County’s community resources.
- Demonstrated experience developing strategies to increase community partnerships and volunteer engagement, including event logistics and volunteer coordination.
- Proven success in team development, including mentoring, performance management, and fostering collaboration.
- Experience working in the nonprofit sector with a focus on family support or social services.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $67,000.00 per year
