Job Details

A qualified, friendly, dedicated pharmacist that offers the highest quality customer service available.  Takes an active interest in company programs and initiatives.  Accepts responsibility of assisting the Pharmacy Director in meeting all departmental goals.  Follows SafeDose Pharmacy policies and procedures.  Fulfills all duties of a licensed pharmacist.  Has good communication skills.  Is a team player.  Does what is necessary to get the job done.  Follows all state and federal laws and regulations pertaining to the practice of pharmacy.

Responsibilities

Dispenses prescribed medications, drugs, and other pharmaceuticals for patient care by performing the following duties:

  • Reviews prescriptions issued by Physician, or other authorized prescriber, to assure accuracy.

  • Answers questions and provides information to Pharmacy customers on drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and storage of pharmaceuticals.

  • Maintains established procedures concerning quality assurance, security of controlled substances, and disposal of hazardous waste drugs.

  • Enters data such as patient name, prescribed medication, and cost, to maintain Pharmacy files, charge system, and inventory.

  • Instructs interns and other medical personnel on matters pertaining to Pharmacy.

  • Knowledge of all packaging machines and how they work including but not limited to the DOSIS, TCGRx, and Inspect RX machines.

  • Fill in where needed to make sure all stations are completed throughout the day including but not limited to shipping department, tray fills, checking of orders, correction station, and boxing of cycles.

Qualifications

  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations – Current Pharmacist License in Indiana and other states if requested.   Licenses must be in good standing.

  • Education and/or Experience – B.S. in Pharmacy or Pharm D.

  • Language Skills – Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and employees.

  • Mathematical Skills – Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

  • Reasoning Ability – Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

  • Computer Skills – To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of QS/1, DocuTrack, and Inventory software and Order processing systems as applicable.
