Patient Transporter

Marquis Mobile Dental Services of Texas, and its management company, ExcelHealth Group, LLC, is seeking to fill one exciting and fulfilling entry-level position. MMDSTX is a Texas-based dental company providing comprehensive dental care for residents of long-term care facilities. Our services are delivered via state-of-the-art mobile dental clinics which arrive onsite each day at a different nursing home.

This is a fantastic opportunity to learn and grow in both the dental and long-term care industries. Each mobile clinic provides a small, inviting environment creating a safe space to deliver great care and on-the-job training experience.

Traveling Team: The traveling clinic staff includes a clinic manager, registered dental assistant, and patient transporter.

Transportation: The clinic staff typically meets at a local designated location and travel together in a company vehicle as a team of three. The dentist generally arrives separately.

Travel Frequency: Four (4) to five (5) days per week throughout the designated territory

Overnight Stays: Occasional over night stays

Primary Service Areas Available:

• Throughout designated Texas territory, which can include drives several hours out.

Requirements:

• Primary responsibility is safely transporting residents in wheelchairs or geriatric chairs to and from the nursing facility to the dental unit that is typically parked outside of the facility in the parking lot
• Must be able to safely ascend and descend a ramp while transporting patients of varying heights and weights in a wheelchair or similar apparatus.
• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
• A desire to work with nursing home residents.
• Demonstrating a concern for the patient’s well-being and an understanding of cultural sensitivity
• Willingness and ability to communicate with facility staff and elderly patients clearly and respectfully.
• Assisting with clinic maintenance, cleaning, and sterilizing procedures.
• This position involves routine standing, pushing, and reaching.
• Must be punctual and attentive to schedules and procedures.
• Must be flexible with schedule.
• Acting as a fill-in in other regions required when necessary, generally with your same team
• Traveling with the team in the same vehicle is required
• Reliable transportation to and from the launch/meeting site is required

Compensation:

• When traveling with the team, transportation, overnight hotel, and overnight meals directly tied to an overnight stay are covered at the company's expense.
• Windshield/traveling time is paid at same hourly wage.

All employees who have direct patient access are subject to a background check and drug screening. Unacceptable results will exclude an applicant from employment.
