Eye Site of Tampa Bay is looking for an experienced Ophthalmic Technician (certification as COA through JCAHPO, a plus!). Ideal candidate will have one or more years experience, excellent customer service skills, be motivated by clinical excellence, function as a team player with a positive attitude, and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. Two office locations (Clearwater and Trinity, FL). Full-time, M-F, EOE, background check and drug testing.
Core Responsibilities:
- Perform as a valued, key team member by assisting providers through preparing patients for examination using excellent customer service talent and technical training.
- Perform testing as ordered by provider (AR, OCT, HVF, Corneal Topography, IOL Master, ECC, tonometry).
- Conduct patient work-up appropriate to patient clinical history and chief complaint.
- Effectively communicate with patients, accurately record all aspects of history of present illness and update medications.
- Review past records in preparation of current visit; confirm needed patient records are available for provider review.
- Perform baseline refractions through use of Phoropter/Marco.
- Ensure proper authorizations/referrals are in place if additional testing is required.
- Proactively participate in maintaining efficient workflow through personal effectiveness, seeing 4-6 patients per hour.
- Prepare exam room through proper sterilization per policy, assist patients to exam room, and anticipate provider needs through proper exam set-up.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times.

Education/Experience:
- 1 Year as Ophthalmic Technician
- High School diploma, or equivalent
- Computer experience (Nextech/MDI or other EHR experience, a plus)
