DescriptionOverviewLooking to cover athletic events without a fulltime position?We at Fairview Health Services are looking for a Casual Athletic Trainer to be based out of our Blaine Clinic! This is a casual role, meaning all hours are based on your availability - you pick your hours! We do ask that you are able work at least one event a month. We provide athletic training services to: contracted high schools (Brooklyn Center, Robinsdale Armstrong/Cooper, & Wayzata); the National Sports Center, & community partners. The most sought after benefits are the flexible schedule & abundance of hours available during athletic seasons, but we also offer 401k/403B savings plans!ResponsibilitiesThe Athletic Trainer is responsible for safe & effective direct delivery of patient care including patient evaluations, treatments, reassessments, and discharge planning. Communicate accurate follow-up care to patients, coaches & any other medical personnel & assist in referrals as well as providing education to improve treatment Resolves playability of injured athletes at practice or competition; & evaluate for injuries, establish level of care, & handles any immediate injuries Acquires appropriate supplies for effective care & assists coaches in game preparation of equipment/supplies needed to handle athletic injuriesQualificationsRequired Board of Certification Certified Athletic Trainer Licensed as an athletic trainer with the MN Board of Medical Practice Current CPRPreferred Membership of the National Athletic Training AssociationOther desired skills include:Outstanding interpersonal communication and excellent customer service/public relations. The ability to meet the patients needs willingness to modify interventions and/or adapt to change and engage in ongoing process improvement. An appreciation for safety with the wherewithal to prioritize and work with a fluctuation in workload while working independently.
