DescriptionOverview:Community Advancement Summer InternResponsibilities/Job Description:This position is a hybrid role, with the flexibility of working remotely and some in-person meetings and community events. This position would be on the M Health Fairview Community Engagement Team within the Community Advancement Department. The team collaborates with the community to improve health and well-being and promote health equity through short-term and long-term approaches. Job Duties/Description • Shadow Community Advancement staff, attend team meetings and community partner meetings. • Assists other clinical and/or non-clinical staff with projects as requested. • Willingness to complete health-related research projects on the topic of choice relevant to healthcare, health equity diversity and inclusion, and/or community advancement. • Involvement in COVID-19 response and community engagement work. •Actively promote community health programs and initiatives. • Maintains knowledge of and complies with all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and standards. • Performs other duties as assigned. Prerequisites/Qualifications • Reliable, self-motivated, and positive attitude. • Team player. • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English. • Ability and sensitivity in working with diverse populations. • Ability to work independently with moderate degree of supervision. • Ability to work with confidential data • Ability to multitask • Attention to detail: Achieves thoroughness and accuracy when accomplishing a task. • Computer Skills: Ability to use a computer and applications that are associated with performing basic work tasks (navigate in Windows, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, etc.). • Data Entry, typing and note taking skills.
