Position Summary

The High School Bible Teacher will model, uphold, and facilitate the mission of Faith Bible Christian School (FBCS) by fostering Christ-like character, academic excellence, and a commitment to serving others. This role involves teaching content based on the Life of Christ from the four Gospels. The teacher will inspire and equip students to think biblically and critically, guide them to live lives worthy of the Lord, and nurture their academic and spiritual growth. Teachers at FBCS are called to develop students as leaders and influencers who impact the world as servants of Christ.

Key Responsibilities

Instructional Planning and Delivery

  • Plan and implement a curriculum aligned with school outcomes that accommodates the individual needs and abilities of students.
  • Develop and deliver lessons that achieve stated curriculum objectives, utilizing appropriate instructional methods and materials.
  • Create and maintain a classroom environment conducive to learning and spiritual growth.

Assessment and Feedback

  • Assess students’ academic and spiritual development to provide timely and constructive feedback to students, parents, and administration.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance, including grades, attendance, and progress reports.

Collaboration and Communication

  • Collaborate with colleagues and parents to enhance student learning and develop curriculum solutions.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school personnel to foster understanding and support for student success.

Classroom Management

  • Manage classroom behavior to ensure a safe and productive learning environment.
  • Uphold and enforce school policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee and Student/Parent Handbooks.

Professional Responsibilities

  • Prepare and organize teaching materials, lesson plans, and required documentation.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and a positive attitude in all interactions and responsibilities.
  • Attend staff meetings and participate in professional development opportunities as required.
  • maintain confidentiality and adhere to information security policies to protect sensitive student, staff, and school data.


Qualifications

Education and Certification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Theology, or a related discipline (required).
  • Current Oregon Teacher’s License or ACSI certification (preferred).

Skills and Competencies

  • Ability to design effective lesson plans and instruct students in theories, methods, and tasks.
  • Strong communication skills to clearly convey complex ideas to diverse audiences.
  • Active listening skills to understand and address students’ learning needs.
  • Knowledge of educational psychology, learning styles, and effective teaching strategies.
  • Proficient in classroom technology to enhance lessons and manage attendance and grades.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Leadership and patience for working with students of varying ages and learning abilities.

  • Demonstrates a passion for Christ-centered education and a commitment to serving students.
  • Exhibits Christ-like character and serves as a role model in faith and conduct.
