Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a Safety Supervisor to join our Georgia and Storm Restoration Division. This role is based out of Rome, Ga, and is responsible for overseeing the planning and implementation of safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Department of Transportation (DOT). The Safety Supervisor will reinforce a strong safety culture within the organization and ensure the safety and health of all employees.
Essential Job Skills/Duties:
Faith Electric Safety Program Management:
- Conduct safety observations to ensure crew safety and environmental compliance.
- Lead weekly field safety meetings for crew members.
- Provide coaching and mentoring on safe work practices.
- Oversee rubber protective equipment testing and rotation.
- Develop, implement, and maintain safety programs, policies, and procedures.
- Perform pre-employment drug testing collection.
- Maintain the company’s chemical Safety Data Sheet (SDS) inventory.
- Conduct random and post-accident drug testing.
- Order replacement rubber protective equipment for line crews.
- Maintain company Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs).
- Identify and evaluate workplace hazards and recommend corrective actions.
Training and Development:
- Conduct New Hire Orientation Training.
- Develop, coordinate, and/or conduct assigned training classes and programs in various safety and environmental health areas.
- Identify training needs and gaps; propose plans to address them.
- Develop and deliver safety training programs to employees.
- Conduct safety training sessions, including tailboards and briefings, to ensure understanding and adherence to safety protocols.
Incident Management:
- Investigate incidents and near misses, determine root causes, and recommend preventive measures.
- Ensure timely and accurate incident reporting and documentation.
- Follow up on corrective actions to ensure completion and effectiveness.
Compliance and Inspections:
- Lead safety and environmental incident investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective action plans. Interface with regulatory bodies (OSHA, EPA, State/Local Regulators).
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance with OSHA and DOT regulations.
- Perform regular workplace inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Ensure that all equipment and machinery meet safety requirements.
- Prepare written reports on findings and recommendations for corrective measures.
Communication and Relationship Management:
- Participate in the departmental Safety Committee, reviewing and conducting safety accident investigations to determine root causes and mitigate risks.
- Communicate safety policies and procedures to all employees and management.
- Maintain working relationships with employees, supervisory personnel, state and local officials, consultants, and subcontractors.
- Provide support on sensitive or critical projects, ensuring safety standards are maintained.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Analyze and trend safety statistics and metrics to monitor safety performance.
- Prepare and present safety performance reports to management.
- Develop and track safety performance indicators and goals.
Support and Development of HSE Programs:
- Support Corporate Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) initiatives.
- Assist in developing and enhancing HSE programs.
- Provide support in post-incident investigations and develop strategies to prevent future incidents.
Regulatory Understanding:
- Stay updated on OSHA, DOT, and other relevant safety regulations.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal safety regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Sciences, or Engineering, OR 5 years of equivalent Safety experience (ideally within power line construction).
- Preferred Licenses/Certifications: CSP, CUSP, CHST, COSS, etc.
- OSHA 30 certification required (OSHA 510 preferred).
- Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations applicable to employee health, safety, and site control.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software and experience with web-based tracking software.
- Must complete alcohol and drug test screenings.
- Must have and maintain clean DMV record to drive company vehicle

Pay: $25.00 - $40.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 55 per week
